Life in the Collector. (sorry to

Life in the Collector. (sorry to all those who don’t know what that is)

So, my life has started to pick up and slow down.

Work is now easing up a bit. I’ve been getting home at 6:30 instead of 7:30. This makes me happy. And I am getting busier now.

Friday i went to Aunt Phyllis and Colin’s for a visit. On saturday I worked and then stopped by to help install their over the range Microwave.
Sunday was extremely busy…. I went to a different church. Whitby Christian Assembly. It was amazing, I left feeling quite refreshed. Part of the reason I went here is because my friend from College, Jeri-Leanne, is interning there. So after church we went out for lunch. After lunch I went to walmart to get my oil changed… while I was waiting I ran into Faye and Charlie. So we went for coffee to timmies, and then after my car was finished I headed over to use their shop vac to clean my car.
From Faye and Charlie’s I went out to see Gram and Gramps… I then went to a birthday party for My Aunt’s neice. It was a busy day. I got back home at 9:30 and then went to work on monday.

There was something else that I had thought was blog worthy… but I have forgotten.
Stay tuned for more exciting adventures!

Busy, Busy, Busy…

Busy, Busy, Busy…

So as you all know my life is hectic. I work a lot… And then I spend time with a few friends, and last Sunday I went to my aunt and uncle’s for father’s day. It was good. I took lots of pictures. But mostly of flowers.

This has been an interesting week, with guy’s quitting, not showing up, me blowing up… Needless to say. I’m being stretched.

My life in Rhyme.

So

My life in Rhyme.

So it’s been quite a week. I went up to the cottage on Manitoulin last weekend. Thus the lack in a Saturday Post. I was glad that I went the minute I hit Espanola. I got off work at 8 pm and left the house at 8:36. I made it to the cottage sat morning at 4:30. So minus the 2 hrs in stops which included sleeping at parry sound and Sudbury, and a gas and coffee stop in Espanola. I made it in 6 hrs. In a 6.5 hr drive.

Although I went up under the guise of setting up the water, when I got there I immediately nixed that Idea and limited my labors to chopping wood for the fire and knocking down the grass along the driveway. I did manage a short swim as I needed to clean myself. My apologies to the environment and environmentalists… I did bathe in the lake. But it wasn’t much of a bath. The Lake WAS FREEZING! Something like 2 degrees. And apparently the Ice had just come out.

The irony of the week is that I am thinking in rhyme. I hate poetry with a passion (mostly this detest falls into my hatred for the over-analysis of any literary form), so when I start thinking in rhyme this is quite surprising.

For Example… I saw the Island, thought of the escarpment… And thought.

“Step up to the edge and then you’ll see… What it take to understand me…
It’s not real hard, but a little odd… It starts with the edge of the escarpment…

Pros, Cons and Complaints.

Pros, Cons and Complaints.

So… I’ve been working lots. This is good and bad.
Pro: I’ve lost 15 lbs since I started. I’m weighing in at 200 again.
Con: I have no spare time. My feet are in constant pain, and I don’t actually get to see anyone.

The Complaint:
I was planning on going up to the cottage this weekend and it involved taking Monday off. Unfortunately, it looks like I can’t get the day off. This is because apparently non of the new hires can hack a 12 hour day and don’t last more than a week.
But the cottage is a 6.5 hour drive it’s not leisurely unless I take the trip over three days. To top this off Lindsay and Jordan can’t get any time off from work, so they can’t go either. It is disappointing. So now my plan, if all goes well, is to leave work early on Friday and drive up after work. This involves getting to the cottage at 1 am. Then Saturday I will install the water line and fix any pipe breaks. And I’ll drive back down on Sunday. … … FUN!

Random happening… Saturday Night I went to Lakeshore Pentecostal Camp for the first time. It was interesting. Quite different from anything I expected. It should be called “village” or “resort” instead of camp.

Rain Rain, Go Away!

I

Rain Rain, Go Away!

It’s been a long week. I volunteered to work on the weekends and help the flower planting crews. As a result… I have even less of a life. When i punched out at 3:30 pm today, I had 65.5 hours over 6 days.

Not to mention that this all happened with 3 rain days. and 3 Heat days… which meant that the grass was 1/2 a foot long. My latest night was 8:30 pm with a 7:00 start time. How much do you love your Job?

Anyways… other than that nothing else is really new and urgent. Dad is back at home, and recovering from his mild non-life threatening stroke.
